Learning HTML

A website aimed at 11-13 year olds aiming to teach them HTML

A large view of Learning HTML

A website designed for kids around the age of 12 to learn HTML, care has been taken to make it as engaging as possible. This I think shows a different aspect to my design skills. Younger people like to explore websites, so I've added little things to help with that. Works best in Safari/Chrome/Firefox for keyframe animations and everything is CSS apart from the lesson images. What aided my approach of teaching it was around that age I began to learn HTML, the tutorials you see on websites day to day are what I learnt from. I wanted to try make it easier to learn from that age point. It was a huge challenge for me to get to that point. Further thoughts on the design; I went through a few ideas from planning and got to the one you see now. I wanted to make the page draw the user to the lessons themselves. I have aimed to make the big buttons for each lesson as inviting as possible to the user to make them hover them. The aim is simple from then onwards (so to say). The user begins the lesson and at the end of each lesson is told the learning objectives and offered to progress onto the next lesson. Live version
